No such thing as a guarantee especially at a rebuild like that, but I think it was a smart hire too.

Well, he's making over 600k now, and he'll probably get around 2.5 mil at KU, so congratulations Lance Leipold on the pay increase.

I think it was about the best hire KU could make, if true, but I think he's about to get a rude awakening at just how much of a rebuild it's going to take there. Even the fat man struggled for many years.

Keep in mind, he probably hasn't been introduced to the "basketball is priority #1 around here" crowd yet either.

Gill was a fine hire, Charlie was totally wtf and universally mocked, baty was a stopgap budget hire and everyone knew it, les was Charlie 2.0.

Getting an actual coach is a big step up, way to go squawks!

Jeff Long was about as bad of hire as any of the coaches were. He chased out the cheap guy the second he showed any progress, was made to look like a fool in a lawsuit that saved them no money, hired a head coach that was shitty and expensive all while not doing due diligence on his past. Not to mention he got absolutely clownsuited publicly by Mellinger.

i'm seeing a lot of people talk about Leipold "turning around" UB.

He took over in 2015. In 2013/2014 they won 8 and 5 games respectively.

It's a cycle as true as the seasons

Hire- We will be a bowl team by year 3 worst case scenario!

Year 1 - We knew we would take lumps but coach X is finally getting his guys in the system!

Year 2 - The wins were not there but we definitely saw some on field improvement, look for a big step up next year!

Year 3 - Coach X has no idea what they are doing, I could coach this team to 4 wins!

Repeat.
