Herman is a great target. Really depends how badly he wants to be a P5 HC again.
He would have a much easier path to this be becoming an analyst or position coach for one of the mega programs, which is why I am surprised that he became an analyst in the NFL. If a coach wins 4-5 games at KU, for at least two years, they would then be in line for a next tier job, outside of the top 25 jobs, like Louisville, Arizona, South Florida, NC State, etc. There are much easier ways to get a job like that, like the aforementioned working under Saban, Dabo, Kirby, Mullen, Kelly the Murderer, or just getting a head coaching job with a G5 school and make a bowl or two. He wouldn't have to do much at a G5 school to get a mid tier FBS job. Winning at Kansas is by far the hardest of these paths to get back to a good P5 job.
