That CU game was a doozy. Hawks were down by like 30 or some crap like that and came back to win give CU a proper send off to the pac12. Was a lolercoaster

Yup, and we got the CU coach fired, to boot (IIRC).

Last KU Victories Against Conference Opponents

Baylor: Last victory over the Bears was in 2007. Baylor fired head coach Guy Morris at the end of the season. They've also never beaten the Bears in back to back years...ever.
Iowa State: Last victory over the Cyclones was in 2014... and they were coached by Clint Bowen. Iowa State fired Paul Rhodes next year.
Kansas State: Last victory over the Wildcats was in 2008. We fired our coach four days later.
Oklahoma: Brace yourselves... last win over the Sooners... 1997. The Sooners fired head coach John Blake next year after a 12-22 record.
Oklahoma State: Last victory over the Cowboys was in 2007.
Texas: Beat them in 2016. Thanks Charlie Strong (who was fired immediately afterwards)!!! This is also their only victory over the Longhorns since 1938.
Texas Tech: Beat them last year (2019) when Tech decided to let them retry a game winning field goal. Previous victory over the Raiders was in 2001.
TCU: Last victory came in 2018, and KU fired David Beaty for it 8 days later.
West Virginia: Last victory came in 2013. It is also their only victory in history over the Mountaineers.

Previous Members

Colorado: Last victory was in 2010. Colorado fired its coach immediately following the game.
Missouri: Last victory was in 2008. Mizzou left in 2010
Nebraska: Last victory was in 2007.  Nebraska's head coach Bill Callahan was fired at the end of the season. They also won in 2005 which accounts for the only two victories over the Huskers in the last 50years.
Texas A&M: Last victory was in 2007. Texas A&M fired their head coach Dennis Franchione at the end of the season. The only other victory over the Aggies was in 1974.
My goodness.. woof

I went back and added more coaching terminations. 50% of coaches lost their job after losing to KU in the same season, with 50% of that group being fired before the next game.

In fact, if I'm doing the math correctly, if you lose to KU in the Big XII, the chances of you still being employed at the same school 15-ish months from that loss are a dismal 38.5%.

That is an awesome stat. Although it’s terrible for KU’s prospects. It has become so risky to lose to KU that no coach is going to overlook them on the schedule.

Mizzou left in 2011, not 2010.  They and A&M stayed a year longer than Nebraska and Colorado did.

I went to that game!  I remember when KU got to our side of the field in the 3rd quarter, when the bench was playing, and Snyder pulled the 2nd and 3rd stringers and put in the starters to prevent a conversion.  That really PO'd the locals.

The 2002 game; great time.

Fun Facts: the largest margins of victory have typically occurred when the game is played in Lawrence, for either team.

Kansas State Wins
2002 @ Lawrence  64-0
2010 @ Lawrence  59-7
1998 @ Lawrence  54-6
1955 @ Lawrence  46-0
1999 @ Manhattan 50-9
2012 @ Manhattan 56-16
2000 @ Lawrence  52-13
2011 @ Lawrence  59-21
2014 @ Manhattan 51-13
2003 @ Manhattan 42-6

KU wins
1947 @ Lawrence  55-0
1950 @ Manhattan 47-7
1960 @ Manhattan 41-0
1949 @ Lawrence  38-0
1962 @ Manhattan 38-0
1904 @ Manhattan 41-4
1903 @ Lawrence  34-0
1946 @ Manhattan 34-0
1961 @ Lawrence  34-0
1963 @ Lawrence  34-0
1965 @ Lawrence  34-0

Darn Jayhawk faithful. There's that pesky trend again that shows our sleeping giant hasn't got it together yet in the modern college football era. Half these victories occurred before the coaches poll started, with a few of those occurring before David Booth Memorial stadium was even built! Fear not though. Les Miles just has to talk about the 1960-1965 years where KU shut us out for 6 games in a row!!! That should be more than enough to convince recruits which program truly has the power in this state.

Maybe there is a family health issue but I doubt it's a coincidence he is leaving after the 4th game.  Seems like groundwork to pick up a year of eligibility and get a waiver to play next fall.
