Re: KU/Baylor Game Thread
I thought Baylor had a shot at setting the single game total yards record today, but I'm not sure they can get long enough fields to do it.

My TSC is in so much pain right now, guys.  That can't be more than 10,000 people.  We need to fight to keep two D1 football programs in the great state of KS.

#wavethewheat

nope, 25,910.

So it's slightly more than half full...

Those official attendance numbers always seem inflated. If 25k is the best they could fudge, then :frown:

Obviously, the big money donor sections were packed but you just can't see them due to camera angle as press box is in the way.

I'm impressed that diminutive press box is capable of blocking anything.

If a film production company ever needs a set where they need to shoot scenes of Rommel and Hitler touring the construction of the Atlantic Wall . . . I know the perfect place.

Man Dax really wants everyone to know that ku's press box appears to kind of look like an old German pillbox or whatever

When is the last time a power 5 team went completely winless?

I believe it was the 2008 Washington Huskies. Washington State only had one win that year until they played Washington.

Late Nite was last night. I wouldn't go either.

I'm still trying to figure out how going to Late Night would somehow physically block someone from attending a football game the next day.  I see the Late Night talking point every now and then but it just doesn't seem to hold up under close scrutiny.

College kids need plenty of rest. It would be irresponsible to skip out on quality sleep just for some sports match. :dunno:

Harbaugh would have been great for the year or two he would have been in Lawrence but more important KU would not be in the mess they are in now.

Quote
Honestly, Lew's refusal to let Harbaugh coach Stanford in their bowl game is top of the list of how he screwed up KU football. Monumental screw up.

Quote
I think it has been pretty well established that we basically hired him, but Lew's stipulations kept him from accepting, and then Gill happened. Harbaugh is obviously a top three coach at the college level, and even if he only staid 2 years we would be better off. But, that all didn't happen so stfu and sack up for the looooong rebuild ahead courtesy of Gill/Charles.

Quote
Didn't harbaugh himself admit to it?  Maybe not the details, but that he was going to come.
He did. He essentially said the deal was done, but there were some hang ups and it fell apart.

In 2009 KU was about an equal job to Stanford.  Neither team had great football tradition.  In 2008 Stanford was 5-7, in 2009 KU was 5-7.  Stanford isn't exactly known for taking a deep dive into supporting athletics.

You would think Late Night would actually create a bump in FB attendance with people coming to town for that garbage.

KU was probably a better job at that point since the setting in Lawrence is way better than wherever the hell Stanford is at.

I know this was spoken in jest, but Stanford is truly one of the most beautiful campuses on the planet.  The students are friendly, it's where I'd want to go to school if I hadn't already graduated from K-State, and could meet their admission standards.  It would take about 5 minutes for anyone of average intelligence or better to discern that Stanford is heads above about every other campus in the US.

The old version of Stanford's stadium hosted one Super Bowl.  KU's Memorial Stadium hosts a Super Bowl every two years.  Advantage: KU
