A lot of bad persons outing themselves in this thread.

The "most homeless people pull in six figures" argument is ridiculous.

Take it to The Pit or to GPC, ya jerks. WonderMeal out.

Gtfo bro.

Had a guy pull up in a very $$$ late model Dodge Quad cab Cummins diesel and block me in my parking spot at HD in Topeka...  Said he just landed a construction job in St. Joe but needed gas money to drive back and forth and the wife and kids were starving at home (price of diesel at the time was over $4).  I suggested he should sell his truck and buy a Prius...

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I usually give a homeless guy my leftovers from M&S or wherever I just ate, if he is in between the restaurant and my car

There is a guy that's on Wanamaker consistently with a ku shirt on with a sign asking for money, almost gave him money once just cause I felt so bad that he had a crappy team to cheer for and he didn't have a job (almost)

You know what pisses me off...  When they bring a pet to sit on a corner with them...or even worse, an  elderly person in a wheel chair.  Saw that in Salina one time last summer.  It was 105° and this man and woman had grandma sitting in her wheel chair on a corner panhandling...the obese woman was sitting on a fold up chair with an umbrella and grandma was left sitting in the blazing sun with a sign hung around her neck...  :dubious:

You have to be careful when you beat them because they might die.

Cops don't care if you kill bums or hookers.  Serial Murder 101.

I got hit up by a kid needing money to air up his bike tire near campus in Topeka once. Later I passed again and I saw that I had been scammed. When one of his friends asked me the same question, I told him to get some from his friend! HEY OH!

Also, I usually just give out gift cards that I have in wallet or tell them they can have whatever money is in my wallet. Usually a buck or two. Just depends upon how I'm feeling that day.

here in vegas, when walking alone on the Strip, i always have iPod headphones handy. i don't plug them into an iPod necessarily, but will usually just put the cord in my pocket. helps me to avoid conversation with the homeless.

oddly enough, if i DO have an iPod, i almost always give to the homeless. the music sets the mood, and i feel really terrible for them; at least until i watch Dateline NBC and find out that it's all a big scam...
