Homeless peeps

Have game here in KC. They've got a different strategy then most who play the game.

For example: "Yo brother, you look nice today. You got some big meetings? Where did you go to school? Where do you work? You must be rolling my man. Anyways, if you don't mind, I just ran out of gas and gotta get to work. You don't happen to have a couple dollars do you?"

I've heard that line twice now while being downtown.

Another example: "Bro, what are you wearing? That smells nice! You GQ'ing for a lady tonight? Nice! Anyways, my car just got towed, do you have a few bucks for a cab so I can meet up with my friend to get help?"

Their strategy is solid, but it sounds like a lot of work to hear "NO, sorry!"

No eye contact and continue walking, the key is to let them know that you dont give a crap about them or their story.

and that he lives/works downtown

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

was just about to comment on how seamlessly he used homelessness as a vehicle for a fanning-brag about working downtown, studly

that's the thing, I'm not. I'm dressed down compared to my last job and I'm wearing Axe spray.

I heard from some hobos you look/smell great while going to your downtown job from your awesome River Market loft, but I'll take your word for it.

That was probably Steve, he's the best. I give him leftovers from 12 Baltimore.

Where you getting hassled?  I walk to/from work daily for about 5 years along with all around afterhours and I can name very few times I've been hit up for money.

It's usually in the mornings. I'm sure anyone who's met me in IRL could see me as an easy target.

Funny you say that. As I was walking to my girls house tonight after kickball, I thought Kim Carnes might be the ring leader of this.

That's "when".....any specific location?  I'll get my goons on them.

Is that white dude who wears tie-dye and acts like he has a bum leg still crutching around the plaza?  He's a faker.  Don't give him money.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

KSC roommate has bought food on three different occasions for people who are "just waiting for their food stamps to get in" by KU Med. I told him he's going to get a reputation of a sucker. That crap gets around.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

Had dinner with the folks last night & they reminded me of a fanningism. I guess when I was 19, coming back for Xmas break & we went to dinner on the plaza, I guess I PI'd some guy who asked for $ outside McDonald's & I screamed back "they're for hire dude!". Dick move?

I hate talking to strangers in the first place, but homeless people who are super pushy almost make me have an anxiety attack.   My breath gets short, and heart beats fast, and my singular goal is to get away as fast as possible.  It's hard to explain because it's not fear of the person, it's solely about the conversation. I don't care about your story dude, stop talking to me or I might trayvon you.

Its hard to have one strategy, because you can get by with 90% on one approach but theres always going to be that one guy who's pushy/talkative enough where you know the only thing that will bug him off is telling him to piss off but you can't.

When i travel abroad, homeless people are 1000% worse, and i know pretending i don't speak any language they do (i speak english and german fluently and a little french) works great, you just have to sell it, if they do catch your eye start saying something pissed off sounding in jibberish and they quit... so yeah, next time a homeless guy starts talking to you, do an impression of a subtitled movie and sounds pissed off, should work
