Shouldn't there be something like a street named Papa John's Way or huge pizza signs all over the stadium?
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

My Purdue friend went to Blacksburg last week for Boilermakers vs Hokies.  Weather delays turned the game into a 9 hour marathon.

I'm pretty sure that 90% of those VT fans are obese, luckily our katz fans are some of the fittest in the nation.

Unless they've upgraded in the last five years, the seats are gross. Overall cool stadium but seating is like preschool playground chairs.

This got me looking at their stadium on Google maps haha.  It appears to be a nice stadium but does anyone else think it's strange that Louisville built the Adidas logo into their chairback colors when they added onto the endzone?  Must've been a thank-you for all the basketball recruits they funneled to UofL all those years?  They are just completely sold out to corporate sponsors and naming rights.  Glad we do things the way we do.

I still get mad when opposing fanbases call our stadium a hole in the ground and that pic is a good example.

Only smart planning allows for the superior hole in the ground stadium which allows for decades of easy and less expensive high quality upgrades. Putting your stadium in a swampy low lying area next to a natural pond at the bottom of a hill has too high of a water table to dig down, so you’re stuck with either tearing the whole thing down or living with lipsticking a crumbling shell.

Anybody ever go to a game in this hellhole? I’ve never been but the place sounds hilarious.

I've been there twice, once for a Rays game, the other for the 2009 St. Petersburg Bowl (presented by Beef 'O' Brady's®) between UCF and Rutgers.  It was the very worst.

It is absolute dogshit and it's amazing an MLB team has played there for 25+ years. It's terrible in every way. When you have to have special rules in place for when balls hit catwalks in the ceiling (they actually count as home runs), that's all you need to know.

To your point, only a couple of the catwalk rings, not all of them, count as home runs if they are hit.

Notice there are no lights.  I went to the first night game at the stadium in 1984 when they brought in portable lights.  We played and beat KU, remember Aggieville and surrounding areas being crazy until like 3am.

KU night game was 82.  My freshman year.  I will show myself over to the Signs of Getting Old thread.

Old, Old Timer question (I'm just an Old Timer) - what was south of the stadium (further south in the picture) before Bramlage was built? Was that just another massive parking lot?

Crushed rock parking lot, if I remember correctly.
