Seems extreme.   Should prob start by putting the system on trial.  If that doesn't work, you could always bring the whole system down later?

my bad, was kinda being a dumbass and freaking out about the amount of prep work.  still seems super-awful but i'll remove/cover stuff and blast the crap out of it

i'm just cutting out the middlemen (apologies to those kinds of lawyers, no apologies to people that build stuff that i have to maintain later)
