Do 'taters realize there's a difference between player development and recruiting?  Turner Gill wasted two years of player development and KU is trying to play catch up.  Has absolutely nothing to do with recruiting, though.
IIRC, weren't you the one who bragged about how Rev. Gill was out recruiting us and building a monster.

Gill did out-recruit K-State.  Never said he was building a monster.  That would be Bill Self.

one coach recruited a team that won the big12 and almost played in the national championship game and the other coach recruited a team that couldn't win a single conference game.

Snyder didn't recruit Collin Klein and several other studs on K-State's roster, plus we've already discussed the whole player development vs. recruiting thing.  Next.

who were the other studs?

Javonta Boyd, Braden Wilson, etc, etc.  Not sure how many '09 recruits were actually Snyder's.

Studs?  Please name the Studs.

Nobody is going to confuse Javonta Boyd with a Stud.

Chaz Weis is 16 games below .500 in his last 4 years as a D1 head coach, including coaching "His Guys" at ND.

There's plenty of material there to question his head coaching ability.

Could you guys imagine Klein running RP's offense?

Snyder went 1-10 in his first year at K-State.  Cornelius Lucas is another stud I forgot to mention.

So one year equals four years . . . and believe me, there were plenty of people doubting LHC Bill Snyder TWENTY FOUR years ago.

I was just laughing at the prospect of RP recruiting Klein to run his pro style offense.

I'm not sure I understand the point you're trying to make re. recruiting/player development.  Weis has proven he can recruit well and absolutely sucks at developing those recruits as a head coach. See his recruiting at ND and the subsequent records that lead to him getting canned.

Snyder has proven that he's a mediocre recruiter but can turn some big body WR convert that has the world's worst throwing motion into a Heisman finalist.

God, beems won't let the "better talent, out recruited, etc. etc." thing go. He ignores the field results and looks at those shiny stars that end up dwarfing into the oblivion.

i'm not sure how to break it down any further than to tell you that if the kids you recruited couldn't win a single big12 game and went 1-11 then you did not recruit very well. sorry beems.

I think the kids Weis recruited were good enough to beat Rice and Northern Illinois. They were also good enough to squeak out a Big 12 win that they shouldn't have. Weis just isn't a good enough coach to get the full potential out of his team.

beems is really just doing the best he can with what he's got to work with. pound the 'we're out recruiting you in certain situations' talking point into the ground. i'd do the same thing.

And he never has been and there's no evidence to suggest he ever will be.

He's good at running an offense with fully developed Hall of Fame QBs, I'll give him that.

The player development vs. recruiting is a bullshit argument. Bill has had way too many unheralded freshmen come in and contribute right way. It is time to start recognize that Bill brings better recruits then most people recognize. Just look at the likes of Ty Zimmerman, Tyler Locket, Tre Walker, BJ Finney and Travis Britz.

The thing is that he DOES find diamonds in the rough, and people just think he's solely developing.  He does do very impressive things with development, but he's also not bad at finding guys who will work and have some level of talent.

Beems says you can make players big, fast, and strong just by developing them. They don't need to be athletic in the first place at all.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

Pretty sure Prince was still head coach in December of 2008.
