Its important to remember that they have verbally committed team, not signed. Any player could change their mind whenever they want.
Yeah but some of the guys we have committed seem pretty dead-set on coming here, Risner, Warmack, Lee, Reese all seem very solid.

Sharp looks like a stud.  I'd be pumped if he committed to my school.

On a side note, how pissed are you guys that Weis and KU are dominating K-State in the '14 recruiting class so far (especially in the state of Kansas)?

Looks to me like KU has two of the top five in-state prospects, while K-State has none.
Okay, you got Wrench, we got Warmack, I'll gladly take it.  For every in state we've lost, we'll just get some dude from Texas or Missouri, and you're bragging about recruiting.  Snyder hasn't been good at recruiting for years, that's what I think is funny.

I just think it's funny that KU is still dominating in-state recruiting, even after the past few years.

Most people in Kansas City area are KU bandwagon lifers.  Not surprising.

KU recruiting does look really good. You wonder how it's this good after the last few years of putrid football. As a cat fan, I tell myself that KU's superior recruiting is the result of Weis' ability to sell himself and KU as quality products that don't actually exist. And that the kids who believe him aren't savvy, tough football players. One and a half years in, I'm pretty confident that I'm mostly right, despite my purple-tinted glasses.

Here's the deal.  KU currently has really nice athletic facilities, including the new football complex.  We also have multiple coaches with NFL connections.  Combine that with the fact that KU can offer lots of early playing time, and it's clear why KU is recruiting at a pretty high level, despite the lack of success on the field the past few years.  Once Memorial Stadium is upgraded, and the team starts winning, the gap will just continue to widen even further.

My favorite part of Beem's post is that a fictional facilities project that has $0 donated to it will help KU recruiting but K-State's nearly finished WSC seems to be irrelevant

The biggest problem is getting the players to buy into the idea of a team. Snyder does a great job of getting the players to work well together. Most players that only want playing time are trying to make themselves look as good as they can as early as possible so they can reach the next level. With that being said, if the player is actually good, odds are they wont stay all 4 or 5 years they are at the university.

of course you'll say that because you're a ksu homer. and really do the athletes really care what the stadium is like? I think it's more for the fans...the athletes care more about weight room, housing... stuff like that.

Well, if I was a D1 athlete I think gameday experience would play a decent role in my decision. If I had a chance to play in front of lets say 80,000 compared to 50,000, I would take 80,000 everytime.

Earlier this week he didn't know who Brent Venables was, so I'm pretty confident we could ask him anything about football and he wouldn't be able to answer.
