So this years team is getting more respect than last years team when the O/U was at 8.  After losing Klein, Harper, Tannahill and most of our defensive starters we're supposed to be better?

Respect. Aretha, not Corky.

K-State's Players (5.5 wins) + :billdance: (3 wins) = 8.5

Pro Tip* : Never take the under on a Bill team. Never.

We also have an easier nonconference schedule this year and OU looks like they will be worse than they were last year.

Good point.  Texas should be better, but it's Texas so no worries there.

We bring back Lockett, Thompson, the offensive line, running back, Trujillo and McDonald at TE, a Gronkowski is at Fullback, and we bring back a super stud Running Back/Quarterback in Sams.

The coordinators all come back.

The Defense has a lot returning contrary to popular belief. Mueller, Slaughter, Truman, Walker, Evans, Zimmerman have all had significant playing time and I would argue that the most important player last year was Zimmerman not Arthur Brown (even though Brown is a Stud/Boss/EMAW Hero). Barnett looks to be a capable safety that wasn't ready to start at Waco but looked much better against Texas. Hell I am impressed by new recruit CB Cre Moore who probably shouldn't get any playing time this year but will likely be a stud by the time he is done.

K-State was 59th in Offensive Yards and 46th in Defensive Yards last year. To be honest that isn't very good and should be a lot better for a team that was trying to win a National title. As LHC Bill Snyder continues to improve the depth chart those numbers will improve.

We got away with it due to phenomenal special teams (except kickoffs) and not turning the ball over.

I am still in love with this team and that won't change unless I find out our quarterbacks are terrible.

5 home games in conference and trading Miami for Louisiana Lafayette (the real threat in Non Con but not as good as Miami).

I agree that total yards isn't a good stat for last years team.

LHC Bill Snyder managed the teams significant weaknesses and turned it into gold. This guy is getting better at using baling wire and duct tape to patch the holes. What is scary is that I pretty much blindly expect it now. If LHC Bill Snyder put Hubert at Quarterback, I wouldn't question it.

Our defense still isn't producing like it did at the turn of the century but I am pretty sure we are going to get there in the next couple of years.  The offensive yards don't bother me but the defensive yards can still be better. Bend but don't break still gives up field goals.

_FAN is a big fan, and has converted most of the board to be big fans, of looking at yards per play. We run less plays than a lot of teams, so looking at total yards isn't fair to us. If you look at the number of yards we gained per play, or the points we scored per play, we were #1 in the nation for most of last season.

Well the way today's offenses are structured, in terms of spread offense and throwing the ball around, high scoring, I'm okay with giving up FG's instead of TD's. To me, it's like if they score a FG with a TOP of say, 2 minutes, and K-State scores a FG or TD with a TOP of 5+, the opponent's defense is going to get worn out faster than K-State's defense as the game goes on, which increases our chances of scoring more points than the opponent. I just look into the TOP very heavily, along with turnovers as well.

That said, if they are projecting K-State to win 8-9 games, I'll rough ridin' take.

It's kind of big when their O/U is 11.5 and their last game of the year is away to Michigan. That's a branch-size limb.
