I had Chicken Pox over Christmas break when I was six.  My Dad bought me a Nintendo (when they were basically brand new) for Christmas because he felt bad that I was going to spend the entire break inside.

So, we played Mario, Top Gun, and Baseball for two weeks since he took the time off to stay with me, too.  It was pretty great.

Oh man AppleJack. That's great.

My dad went to an auction and bought me a bunch of stuff he thought I'd like. Mostly weird old-timey ragtime piano music. :D

There should be a separate day for all of the deadbeat dads.

Great  :Bump: by Metalhead.

WonderMeal Sr really is/was a WonderDad. He took me and the Wonderbros to school every morning, and rather than tune us out by blaring the radio, he'd quiz us on all kinds of stuff to make sure we could one day grow up to be  :kstategrad:.  US and world capitals? Of course. Brain Quest? You bet. In middle school, he'd pick me up from practice (usually late, that's so WonderDad) and we'd go to Dutch Maid and slam a fountain drink of 'Dew together. Prolly not the healthiest, but THANKS, DAD.

What a dad.

SkinnyFather has perfect pitch and can correct you from the kitchen upstairs when you play an A-natural instead of an A-flat while you practice your bassoon! Stud. :surprised:

I'm taking my Dad on the Smokestack Brew tour in July. He's a great guy, and a huge fan of the Cats. Growing up he never missed a ball game, band concert, or dance recital that me or my sister were in. Just a loving man who support my family. #2blessed

Lots of great dads in this thread, some of you are very blessed.  I have a great one, and I think I under appreciated it until I had my own child.

Took my Dad on the Boulevard SmokeStack series tour yesterday, it was part of his Father's day gift. When we were parking he saw they had a space for "electric cars only" and went on a pretty great Dad rant.

I use to park my truck in the "fuel efficient cars" only parking spot at Best Buy and not give a single eff. They finally took the signs down.

All your dads sound pretty cool.  My dad was a hippy drug dealing unemployed loser who skipped out on me when I was 2 years old.  He did call me once about 15 years ago in an attempt (I would assume) at some sort of reconciliation but he was too high to be coherent.  He just kept rambling on about how high he was and how  hard he was going to bone some strange at the party he was currently at.

What makes it funny is that it's true.  According to my mother my father use to like to sit me (as a toddler) on some rather large piles of narcotics and snap pictures with his polaroid.

I would love to get ahold of those pictures for some #tbt facebook love.

Wow as bad as that sounds and must have hurt growing up, you are probably lucky he did skip out before he had a chance to ruin your life really bad.
