I looked into appealing mine.  It lines up to comps.  Guess I'm stuck.

Good morning 'taterblast,

Thank you for contacting our office. I encourage you to forward your concerns to County Executive Frank White @ FWhite@Jacksongov.org and Director of Assessment Gail McCann- Beatty @ GMBeatty@Jacksongov.org.

We are just as baffled as you regarding the large increases in property values and are working to get answers. We were told most increases would be around 15%. In the meantime, if you have any issues with the appeals process, please contact me directly @ [redacted].

Warm regards,

They should be valued at whatever they are selling for. It doesn't matter what seems reasonable.

Yeah, I’m guessing the root cause is they haven’t been assessed in a long time or not correctly assessed.

if slyin' hams hadn't given away billions in tax revenue, the county would not be in a position of having to overestimate our homes.  sad to see things come full circle but hey, money grows on trees in slyin' hams world.  (trees = the back of the working man)

So Mrs Wacky and I's 3rd wedding anniversary is going to be on Monday, but i'll be out of town for the new job, so she has some surprise for me today to be ready for. First thing I did was check Citizen Copes tour schedule and the Royals. Both a no go, both out of town. So then I looked up events in KC this weekend and saw Boulevardia is going on. Do you think this is it? And if so, why would my pregnant wife subject herself to such a thing. To be continued... What could it be? Not dinner at Antons at 4 PM, right? That would make no sense.
