i strongly dislike hyvee.  not as much as hen house but still a large amount.  the 95th and Antioch locashe is at the top of the hate list.  that parking lot is pure crap.

very on brand for this thread

Phil, I'm totally down with your midwestern parking shtick, but we're talking suburbia in a city that has no substantial mass transit system.   That shopping center where Hy-Vee is built can trace it's origins back 50 years, so it's not like it's some sort of 189th Terr Beige McMansion strip mall.

I don't follow your point.  The parking lot looks totally fine on google maps (not to mention half full when the streetview car drove through and satellite flew over it)

Phil, I was just in KC and had to make several trips over there, it's a crap show, friend.

The previous trip in March I had to go over there to pick up some things for a family event, a Saturday, KU was on TV and oddly enough the store will full of KU fans . . . very weird.   I thought it would be a great time to go figuring KU T-Shirt Nation would be parked in front of their 32 inch Emerson's watching the game, but nope.

Kansas City things thread is at peak when grocery store parking lots are the topic.

:peek: I've been to that store 3 times I think and I can't remember being stressed out about parking and I'm not good at parking.

Can you imagine growing up to become the person complaining about parking in a suburban grocery store parking lot? Yeesh.

Anecdotal observations are not life long complaints.

Have you ever read reviews online and what people lose their minds over?  Mainly done by people who are relatively young.

Anything good and new downtown? Taking the Mrs to lunch today.

city barrel brewery at 19th & Cherry.  I haven't eaten there yet but I hear good things.
Dang. Sorry I missed this. We ended up at the new local pig location. It was very good.

I get scrapping the brewery part. It was never that good of beer from what I remember but yeah why not just keep the name and menu?

- what should we name this enormous restaurant and patio located at the central intersection of a popular bar district?

- how about "hideaway"?
