they would not have spent the $12M for any other reason than to secure this flight

and wow to the tax benefit to our city by capitalizing $12M over, what- 3 years?
that’s some pretty scrupulous accounting by city hall, i’m impressed

We all witnessed the fervor the Mayor showed toward Burns & McDonnell when their airport proposal first surfaced.  He and Jolie Justus had met secretly behind closed doors with the Burns & McDonnell team to finalize what he and Jolie thought would be a slam dunk, no bid airport deal.  there was quite an outcry and the project solicited bids.  All the time, the Mayor was selling the Burns & McDonnell’s plan.

What has changed to get the Mayor now pushing the Edgemoor proposal so hard ???  Edgemoor had won the RFP/Q contest but the Mayor was really never on board.  The answer to the question is: depositions

No one at City Hall wants to be called to do a deposition on the airport fiasco especially the Mayor.  If Edgemoor is pushed out of the picture, there will be depositions or a huge settlement paid by the City with taxpayer money.  Edgemoor has had 50 - 65 employees working in an office at 533 Mexico City, Ave on the airport project for several months. That’s a lot of expense just to be turned away.  There will be a lawsuit or a huge settlement.

I quit going once Maggie and Krystal left. Michael is too much and I've not had great luck with anybody else.

Supposedly that's off the table and using PIAC and a renewal of infrastructure sales tax (according to star yesterday).

I was fine with a toll during high demand hours....

tolls are horrible at any location and a slippery slope to go down
