I know that I pay a higher sales tax and property tax rate than any other district in the city.
But, yes development around me is spurred by tax incentives. I get that. It's one of the reasons we are here.

Wow... Incentives on one thing spur other business. Weird

Mayor James did not pay for him to say that.

temporary
What's temporary?  Downtown development? tax incentives? Businesses wanting to be down here?  Maybe. I'll take that risk.

Multiple studies have demonstrated that as the incentives expire those business bounce to the next municipality offering a sweeter deal.  Therefore, the tax revenue they were planning on in the future never actually materializes to offset the tax revenue offset by the incentive.

Outside beer is fine, but outside beer in Feb/march is maybe the best thing ever.

The incentives I'm referencing are changing surface lots to buildings that will be on property tax rolls well after incentives expire... Incentives moving jobs around are mostly worthless I'd agree....

Applebee's is a perfect example.

KCI is the worst. 745 not one place to grab a drink... "restaurant" closing up shop as we walk in. Any KCI defender can get bent right about now.

If amenities were shared yes I think there are enough passengers to sustain one place to sell me a beer or water. Why does kc continue to put up with this trash?  Oh shucks, it's good enough.... Built 30 effing years ago and obsolete the day it opened.

24 flights after 7pm today... Avg capacity 75 people? 1800 passengers... Yeah I bet some of them would buy a beer or coke or magazine.

Gross we have programmed ourselves to accept trash.
