Margaritas is like 6th on the list of SW Boulevard Mexican places. It is better than Manny's tho (Manny's is total garbage).
It's #1 in my heart, but I agree that Manny's is total trash.

Ponaks or patron or Los tules for your Sunday Mexican fix.

It is bad... They now bring a green one as well that isn't horrible. Their cheese and guac is good.

To clarify, I went to the Jalapenos in Stanley/Overland Park, but it's all the same.

Chubby Burrito is what I got, and it was pretty great.

I'm sure most are shocked, but there aren't a lot of great Mexican places in OP.  We struggled to find one we really liked, so it's good to find at least one.  Mi Rancito was alright.  I heard there's a place in Lenexa that isn't bad, but I need to find out what it's name is and go there.

Taqueria Mexico on SW Boulevard is my favorite in KC, though. Love that place.

I ate at Manny's once.  It may be the most overrated restaurant in KC.

Had Ponaks tonight. Great margs. I like being able to mix in the green salsa. The rest of the meal was average. Jalapeños is comparable. Los rules and rudys are both better.

Ponaks has gotten worse recently. they changed up their menu and took away a lot of menu options. also i feel like they used to have better salsa (could be wrong), but now just have shitty red that tastes like marinara, and spicy green which is decent.

I didn't have margaritas there, but it was very good.  It's just about half a mile from my house.

Pan, try Panzon's at 87th and lackman (I think it's lackman. It's right across the corner from henhouse).

Also, mannys is the one whitepplmex shop on SW Blvd. It's horrible that they do so well when so many better places are practically next door.

You're probs talking about El macho in Lenexa. And it is delish.

I also enjoy jalapeños, and I live within walking distance to the brookside location! 1/2 price margs on Tuesdays!  (maybe Wednesday)

As a weekly visitor to Ponaks, there is definitely some menu options to focus on.  The red salsa is pretty much worthless.  The sonora tacos, burrito desabada, guac, original cheese dip (not the white) is the way to go after 2/3 margs first.  I don't mind the regular burritos and tosada but they aren't anything special.  Some of that new stuff they added is pretty gross.

If you haven't been to Double Shift yet I question your intelligence and we likely can't be friends.  It is awesome.  Get down there tomorrow for first Friday and try every beer.

Yup, the beer is great and the AC was better.  KCFDcat is shockingly young for being so successful.

We will need to have a gE football game watch party there.
