well, to begin with let's talk about the return on capital investment

I'm not pro or con that expansion. Sure let's talk about it. Whose capital investment? How is it being funded? What do you consider a return? Property tax from new buildings?

it's great that you've uncovered the great mystery.  we should just build streetcars on every street in KCMO.

I'm trying to think of stuff along the river that's east of the river market area.

Not much yet.  One apartment complex and the park itself. The port authority thinks the rail line will create even more demand for their master plan.

I'm not sold but I think getting it to isle of crapi where the city owns a large lot that could be used for a park and ride or.other development could increase the benefit of the expansion.

Infrastructure investments are typically a great catalyst for development in an area.  I have seen very few examples where this has not been the case.

you don’t agree with offering the pd good health benefits or pensions?
what percentage is $7M of their total budget?  doesn’t seem like much to me.

looks like total requested budget for 2019 was slightly over $228 Million.   That was an $8Mil increase over 2018.

Like, will BarK have its own stop?  There is literally nothing there.  Run it east along 8th or something and get some $$ flowing to the poorer parts of KC.

but the idea is that this extension will grow the river quay into a rich and bustling district and that people (who?) will hang out and pump hundreds of millions of dollars into the area.
the streetcar isn't meant to help the poor, it's designed the make the rich (developers), richer.
the streetcar concept is designed to shuttle white people around who have money to spend offsetting development costs.

A BRT line along independence avenue is a great idea and is bring studied.

Big KCI day. FAA environmental assessment signing today. Term sheet with airlines signing next week for full council to approve on Thursday the 28th. Airlines picking up 90MM in short term funding needed to get to bond sale (no borrowing money from other departments)
