My dad has a real old one that looks just like a rape van. He uses it to move his bee hives    but it also works great when you have to move furniture!
you really need to get your dad to post here, he sounds like he would have awesome stories to tell

My family had a red-and-white striped Chevy van when I was growing up. That thing was awesome - built in police radar detector and CB radio, 4 captains chairs and a table in the middle for playing card games on long road trips, bench seat in the far back, TV (maybe 8 or 10", but color) mounted to the roof. More cupholders than a family of 5 could ever conceivably need. Tiny suicide door on the side.

Those were the days.
I think my grandparents had one exactly like this, did it have a little shelf above the drivers head where you could put stuff or if you were little you could even crawl up there?

No, it didn't have that, but Chevy made them in all flavors. You could remove a panel and crawl underneath the bench seat in the back and get into the "trunk".

how many friggin kids do you have, GFA? That's far more interesting than your vehicle choice. (which I'll admit is very interesting).

We had a similar GMC "Starcraft" conversion - it had sweet indirect mood lighting along the headliner and the benchseat that would fold out into bed that was almost the dimensions of a full size mattress  :fatty:

Rode to the Fiesta from my hotel in a conversion van. Boss  move.  Instead of waiting for the urinal lines, we just opened the suicide doors and boom, problem solved.

you should have another kid so you can start a new version of 7th heaven.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

I'm gonna level with you. I don't have any kids and don't plan on buying a conversion van. I just copied this from GPC.

the conversion van my parents had when i was growing up had a built in refrigerator and sink and you'd fill up a tank with water and then you could be driving down the road and pour yourself a nice cup of water. also swiver captain chairs and a removable card table thing in the middle. so great.

once upon a time when I was young and dumb I sold cars for a living.  well, an asian dude (only mention this because there was a language barrier, no racist) wanted to get rid of his mini van and get another van.  i showed him a slick ass convan.  he asked me if he could get to wichita and back to k.c. without refilling with gas because he had a store there and made weekly trips.  I said hells yeah man.  so he shelled out the mad dough and bought it.  i kid you not two weeks later he shows back up at the dealership pissed as hell because his trip to wichita cost him about $120 dollars in gas when when he used to be able to do it for about $60.  he wanted me to take the van back and i said "hey bud, what's the deal here, I gave you what you wanted?"  he said I lied about the van. I asked him if he had to fill up the gas tank before he got back from wichita and he said no.  it had 2 x 20 gallon tanks lmbo.  i partied for like 2 weeks on the comission from that convan alone.

by the convan gFa, buds will chip in for gas
