Conversion vans
« on: May 21, 2013, 03:33:11 PM »
I am about to pull the trigger on a 2011 Chevy Express Rocky Ridge package for $30k-ish (51k miles)

Any opinions on conversion vans?

Large family...our Suburban is maxed out.

they gross me out, almost makes me anxious thinking about them. would consider killing off family members before purchasing one.

They are awesome, but by the time you have enough kids to fill one up, odds are at least one of your kids will be old enough to drive him/herself and won't want to ride in the van with you anyway.

pro tip.. when you lock your keys in the car (mom) the back window on those slides and if your stud son is small and young enough at the time you can squeeze him through that and he can get the keys but not before starting it and acting like he is going to take off

My dad has a real old one that looks just like a rape van. He uses it to move his bee hives but it also works great when you have to move furniture!

If that van is a rockin', someone call 911 and report a rape.

My family had a red-and-white striped Chevy van when I was growing up. That thing was awesome - built in police radar detector and CB radio, 4 captains chairs and a table in the middle for playing card games on long road trips, bench seat in the far back, TV (maybe 8 or 10", but color) mounted to the roof. More cupholders than a family of 5 could ever conceivably need. Tiny suicide door on the side.

Those were the days.

I think my grandparents had one exactly like this, did it have a little shelf above the drivers head where you could put stuff or if you were little you could even crawl up there?
