103 countries have signed the 1967 Outer Space Treaty

Basically they don't want any Earth microbes mixing with the water and developing into a super monster alien race.

Just physically being on the planet for over 3 yrs is contaminating the hell out of the place. Also, this limits basically everything exploration wise we can do on a planet as far as ppl go. Need to change it.

There is no firm boundary where space begins. However the Kármán line, at an altitude of 100 km (62 mi) above sea level, is conventionally used as the start of outer space in space treaties and for aerospace records keeping.

Yes. As far as I am concerned, Mars is our colony now.

One other thing that the 1967 Outer Space Treaty says is that no country can claim that they own any interstellar body.
