Shallots are great and have their place.  I use at least 3 heads of garlic a week.

I don't use as much garlic as Cire, but whenevs I use a recipe that calls for garlic I usually up the garlic called for 50% to 100%.   :lick:

Also, I very lightly sautee shallots and put them on a smoked ham, sharp chedd, Soft Rye sandwich and grill it on the stove top.  rough ridin' fantastic.

That's sounds very good CNS Casey except for the Rye.  Rye, as everyone knows, is the grossest of all the breads.

Maybe in opposite world where white bread is king and other non-disgusting things are shunned and all ppl have no taste buds.

Shocked.  'Clams continues on his downhill path away from delish food.  First cilantro and now Rye.

'Clams, where in KC is the best place to get a bologna sandwich?

The first time I had rye bread I just assumed it had gone bad.  Nope, supposed to taste like sour ass.  An excellent barometer to determine if someone is some sort of sick rough ridin' weirdo that shouldn't be trusted with children or pets.

rye is another great vegetable.  should it be discounted because it can't form its own gluten?  i don't know, but you won't see me casting aspersions.  good job, everyone.

This week.  Potato soup, half a head of garlic pressed.  Spaghetti Other half of garlic pressed.  sauteed spinach 1/4 head, 1 1/4 lb of ground sirloin for burgers 1/4 head of garlic pressed and mixed with meat.

So Wednesday and 1 1/2 head down.

I can't believe no one has mentioned cauliflower. It is the best, most versatile vegetable.

zucchini is the most versatile vegetable

these are both the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard.

Carrots are the most versatile vegetable.

interesting.

Have you ever had roasted cauliflower? Riced cauliflower? Mashed cauliflower? You can make it into a pizza crust. It's amazing. Zucchini is not edible in raw form. And carrots? Pfft. GTFOOMF

I agree that cauliflower is pretty bossly.

cabbage is a personal favorite of mine. sometimes I microwave up half a head at work and hog on it because I love it but also because I hate the guy I share an office with.

QFT microwaving is the only way to enjoy peas......just heat them long enough to get hot all through and they will still be crisp and sweet.  Canned peas look smell and taste like a fart.

I had a costco sized bag of red bell peppers, but my refrigerator was set too cold and froze them. Ruined.
