It looks like former Kansas State starting point guard Angel Rodriguez is, unsurprisingly, close to choosing Miami as his transfer destination. Shakey Rodriguez, who coached Angel at the AAU and high school level intimated to Rivals.com that Miami is a near-lock at the moment. Shakey says Miami "is his priority, his No. 1 choice. We're looking to make it work." "Angel has to visit, spend a couple of days down here," Shakey said. "After the visit if it's feasible thing, it can end right there. The kid has to feel comfortable, meet people. He'll come down and visit, spend a couple of days. If he likes it he'll make the decision." Shakey is also under the impression the Hurricanes want him badly, which would make sense. At the moment, it seems like there's no way another school catches him. Given the news about Shane Larkin departing to the NBA this morning, this transfer could be big news for Jim Larranaga's program, especially because Rodriguez has a good chance of getting an eligibility waiver because of family circumstances. In that case, he'd be able to play this coming season, which would greatly fill the hole left by Larkin. It's likely Rodriguez will make his decision within a week.

Will need to be in good academic standing.Would be stunned if he was at all interested in South Carolina.
LOL at the tards that think Currie would release him to play at SC.

I for one hope he gets to play right away

The whole waive thing makes it seems like their was tapering involved.

Seems like just yesterday he announced he was leaving, 'clams, and he has already found his new team. Maybe it was a normal amt of time btwn the two(leaving us, agreeing with Miami)? I don't know. Just seemed like this process went fast.
Yeah, just went back to the OP and saw it was from March . The disappointment and pain are still fresh enough that it feels like just a couple weeks ago.
