Anyone an expert on Golf Carts? Folks are looking at getting one and I have been charged with finding what to get. Trying to figure out what brands, Gas vs. electric, years etc to get. Obviously I will suggest the Bubba Watson style hovercraft golf cart but i have a feeling that will get shot down.

Electric seem more reliable and require less maintenance but do fewer burnouts.

I would go gas- it is easier to keep a back up gas can/run to the gas station and get a couple of gallons of gas than finding/keeping a spare battery charged IMO.

Canadian guy I know says that the gas ones do really well driving through sand traps surrounding par 3 greens at Stagg Hill, but he was banned from ever renting a golf cart at Stagg Hill again, so this information may be dated if they have new electric carts.

Yeah, I guess it depends on what you are using it for. like, if you are driving it around your golf course community or hauling it around maybe gas would be a good idea. but, if you're just parking it at the course plugged in between rounds then electric would make more sense.

If golfing, elect since they will be getting out of out/turning it off a bunch (every shot). If going to the mail box or two blocks down to the club house to hang, gas.

Never been on a gas golf cart on a course CNS? They start up when you hit the gas pedal.

Nope. Just assuming they have to be left running otherwise would have to be started constantly.

interesting. a canadian guy i know always says to make sure to get one with tight steering. says he knows this because he and friends were test driving some carts late one night and a friend, driving a cart with loose steering, crashed into a pickup truck. the lesson was reinforced to the canadian when the police showed up and pulled him out of a college biology class.

I would go with one of the new ezgo gas carts. They got a new motor in the last year or two and are fast and run forever on a tank of gas.

So apparently the neighborhood only lets electric. Thinking a club car because from what I can tell they are fastest.

You have to walk a mile in Canadian shoes to really appreciate these lessons.
