Stumbled across this article on another board and thought I would share.  It really focuses on Pitt because that is the team the question was asked, but it includes a downloadable spreadsheet that compares teams NCAA tournament appearances and wins from 2002-2012 vs their expected tournament wins based on seed.  Just found it interesting to look at.

Here recently, Gtown has been the most underachieving team.    They have made the tourney 5 of the past 6 years and been a 2,2,3,3 and 6 seed.   In those 5 years they have never made the Sweet 16 and are only 2-5.   Horrible.

I believe I heard that they lost to a team at least 5 seeds lower than them each of the past 5 years.
