The only way KU loses to michigan is if they put together two stinker halves of bball. They've only played one good half in 2 games.

JO this season was all about oscar trying to play for the future with Gip rather than with a senior.

Yeah, he has really made this year. I mean, Releford has been great too, but without Withey this year would probably look remarkably different. He has done an amazing job.

100% agree with this

KU: 41.1% eFG% defense (#1). 38.7% 2PT% defense (#1). Withey completely changes the game with his presence inside.

It's a joke that he wasn't selected Big 12 POY. Absolute joke.

I won't disagree that oscar played a significant part in JO's lack of playing time (specifically his 1 post system and his preference for Gip's offense), but consistent foul problems and JO's back injury were also very big factors in how much he played.

Withey was talented and highly recruited, but he was not very good when he came to Kansas. We abused him his sophomore year at home. He was a surprise last year as a complement to Robinson, but people chalked that up to people taking it towards him and away from Robinson. His progression has been very impressive, where Jordan would show streaks of awesomeness, followed by 0/2/2 statlines.

He averaged 2.4 fouls per game and fouled out 4 out of 33 games played. There were a few games when JO picked up a quick 2, oscar overreacted.

I think Withey will be the first Self player to have a great NBA career (although the Morris twins could end up being consistent starters from the looks of it).

I agree that oscar's "2 fouls in the first half" policy is excessive, but JO was prone to do that and then sit. (JO and Gip both averaged 2.8 fpg in Big 12 play, FWIW.)

it's odd how shortsighted some of you are being as it relates to the level of play JO exhibited this season. jo's (lack of) playing time had everything to do with jo playing like crap for the majority of the season. a 2nd half against la salle doesn't change that.

Maybe. I've only watched a handful of KU games, 3 of which were the games against K-State, but he seems to have a good enough midrange jumper that , with his defense, would let him start for most NBA teams. Even shot (and made) a 3 this year. Wouldn't be surprised if he was in the league for a long while, to say the least.
