Just a follow-up on our hoops trip in Vegas...
We went to Harrah's- for $90 we got unlimits coors/miller light, breakfast buffet (donuts and coffee), lunch and dinner buffet (pizza, hot dogs, veggies, queso and a few other smaller things) and then exclusive lines for sports betting. It was in a conference room probably about 3 times the size of the Alumni Center ballroom and had tables with 10 seats around them and they had 8 projection TVs total on 3 different walls around the room. They would take turns alternating between the audio on each game so if a game was close we all got to watch and listen.
Overall I'd say I would do it again, we drank beer from about 10 am until 7 pm and ate plenty of crappy food. The lines to place bets were about 10 minutes long at the most packed time and the atmosphere was pretty cool. People were clearly cheering for La Salle and K-State in the room even though they weren't a fan of either team.
I'm sure there are better places to go and when we go back next year we'll probably try one of them, but this wasn't a bad option by any means. The lines to place bets weren't long at any of the places we went but it was hard to get a seat. You could tell people had camped out from early in the morning to watch. The Mirage has a pretty sweet sportsbook, and the Rio has a cool night club but is otherwise pud in every other aspect. Stay on the strip and if you're under 25 and like hot babes, stay at the Cosmo. Place was crawling with honeys.
Didn't see any goEMAWers although we saw plenty of cats fans :(
