Glue traps solved the problem for me and then I just left them down there to make sure it was solved (mine seemed like a one-time thing).  Mouse traps were pretty worthless.

I have those alligator traps and am catching the crap out of them. I'd rather them die quick than get stuck and starve or have to hit them with a hammer. I was pretty nervous early on. One of the traps was just missing. We looked everywhere and it was just gone. I thought we had a big one or a rat so I bought a big rat trap. Turns out it was just a little one that got caught by the foot and he dragged it in between some boxes. Poor little guy. I did hope that his screams for help would ward off his friends and family, but I caught another one a day later.

Found this in the basement utility room today. How screwed am I? Burn the house down and start over?

I mean, you can see all the copper pipes running up into that area. You got a bad leak, brah. It's concerning that it's right next to electrical. I'd spend some coin to have a pro investigate.

Not 100% sure that vent for the hot water heater is exactly legal either.   Could be wrong though.

If you cut that out yourself I would definitely wear a good mask. I'd bet that copper pipe has a pinhole leak in it.

No worries. It's a niche reference to a video game called Red Dead Redemption 2 that I know some of our residents have played.

We just ran 220V & Mrs. Hamburg got a lathe. We have an oversized 3 car garage & we’re reorganizing the 3rd bay around the lathe. I’m pretty excited about the mini-split.
