This is truth.

I actually just read about a case in Alabama where an adolescent beat up another adolescent in school.  Normally, the charge would be assault.  However, the perpetrator used the term in question regarding the theft of money that followed the assault.  The perpetrator was charged with a hate crime and convicted to 15 years in jail.  It's a big term to be throwing around because "everyone I know is saying it".

I do but I'm not going to give it to an anti-semite.

Jesus Christ... I've got some family and friends that are hebs and they use that term all the time. I mean I put it in quotes.

Maybe your family/friends are bigots as well?  And yes, you are correct, Jesus Christ was indeed Jewish.

Shalom

Since when did the verb, 'Jew', becomes such a bad term? I've always used it in the sense of a frugal money conscious individual.

So much butt hurt these days. (No homo). ((Not that there is anything wrong with that)).

Using this term as a verb is essentially what the term pejorative means (in which you express your discontent/disapproval).  Using the term "Jew" as a verb is as contemptuous as it gets as you are relating the term back a historical meaning of "dirty/filthy".  This term and the "N" word have a similar background (epistemologically).  To answer your question to since when...since you've been saying it.  I'm not Jewish, but my family is (I was adopted at age 10 and I asked to keep my faith).  This isn't about butt hurt.

I think we've moved past the 'dirty/filthy' perceptions. Most people associate 'Jew' with being cheap or slick in a monetary sense. I, however, consider the word a term of endearment and associate it with the idea of being 'fiscally conservative.' Obviously, I'm not PC.

Judging a race of people based on a stereotype = racist. I don't even.... How is this confusing?

I will reiterate my point.  I grew up in a Jewish family.  I am Catholic, but my parents are Jewish (and my siblings).  You are beyond being politically correct.  Your "term of endearment" is offensive.  Federal law/Judical Hearings and trials agree with me.  Imagine I'm interviewing for a job in Finance and I tell my could be future employer I was raised in a Jewish family.  He/she reponds by telling me: that's awesome, I know you are good with money because of that.  What do you think HR would say if I told them that this happened in the interview?  It's discrimination whether endearing or not.

It can be confusing because "Jew" encompasses more than a race of people. It is a race, but it is also a religion, so anybody could become a Jew if they wanted to. You are still a bigot if you stereotype them, just not necessarily a racist (though you most likely are).

I don't assume every black person I work with is Carl Lewis or my buddy Sean O'Reilly puts away a 6 pack before work every day, but thanks for the tip.

Pro-tip: racism is directed at a race, discrimination at a faith/gender/sexual orientation/age group.

I didn't say you were racist, I said your term of endearment is discriminatory.  Keep replying though, it is making you look like a genius.

I really enjoy the implosions we get to see.  It's like some of them treat it like a skid and turn into it and accelerate to correct.  Case in point: camKSU

In one of his other posts he mentioned that he was a Catholic that was adopted at age 10 by Jewish parents and since he had already made his rational decision about the creation of the universe, after life, moral code, et cetera, he decided to continue as a Catholic.

Never thought I would post this on a forum but I love gE.com so much I will.  Both my parents died by the time I was 10.  They both were only children.  I only had living grandmothers at the time that didn't want to raise another child.  My god parents (my adoptive family) whom have been as close as family my whole life raised me after my father died.  They were Jewish and I was Catholic.  I remained Catholic while the family that helped raise me was Jewish.

Hanukkah/Christmas was called HanuChristmas in my family.  That is how you get a Catholic raised in a Jewish family.

On the plus side, this could be the best thread I've read about satellite tv and Judaism.

That sounds pretty good all things considered.  Im glad you had a family like that for you.  It is a great feeling to know that there are people that are not your blood that love you like blood.
