the thread is still right.  in a good season, we have numerous games, against good teams, decided in the last couple of minutes.  this year, we've had this one, and the team is only marginally good per pomeroy, and not good per conference record.

i guess the osu, wvu, ku & ou games early were fairly competitive.  those seem like a long time ago.

I want to say it's an anomaly, but they've be consistently mediocre.

They aren't a great shooting team, their defense is over rated, they don't rebound well, and they have one good player, yet here they are on the brink of sharing a BIG XII title with us.

It's a fair question. They really aren't the kind of team I'd worry about going off and lighting it up. They're more of the team that plays pretty good defense and doesn't beat themselves. They're record is good and they have beaten Florida; they really aren't bad at all this year

Because we lost to Ok St, TCU and OU in one week.

Well we blew the game at TCU and that's really the only reason they have any kind of shot at at all. That and they pulled games at WVU, at OU and at Baylor straight out of their butts.

Pure and simple.  They've played way over their heads in conference.  Look for them to be way overseeded in the NCAA tourney and be ripe for an upset.

Angel is allowed twelve or thirteen uncalled fouls per game. He absolutely beats the ball handlers to death and never or very rarely gets into foul trouble. If he can get away with it, good for him.

The answer to the subject line is easy, they're not very good. KenPom ranks them 19th luckiest out of 340-some. Their record in one-possession games is 5-0. They've struggled against awful teams like George Washington, Delaware, West Virginia, and UMKC but come away with wins in all cases.

They are right on one thing: KenPom does not really like you at all.  I mean being #31 is good, so he certainly has respect for what the Cats do, but considering they are a borderline top 10 in the rankings his ranking is just so low.
