JJ's on the Plaza just blew up...

I spent some time with Jimmy, the owner over the weekend and he said he wanted to rebuild.  Who knows though, we were both pretty PAK'd and I'm sure sorting through insurance, etc will be a long drawn out process.

I hope he does.

Would too.  Coal vines doesn't do anything for me.  Location is too good.  Large basement space would be pretty ideal for JJs wine collection, assuming it's still as substantial as it was at the time of the accident.

ya that was the rumor around christmas time- and it was something that was in the works.  but i think it fell apart, and i'm glad it hopefully did.  that coal vines location to me is not big enough.  dunno though because i still see Jimmy the owner of JJ's there drinking and i think he likes that spot.  would prefer him to take ingredients spot and really do it right instead of trying to jam into that small CV spot.

The CV space is pretty small, but I can't imagine it has any less tables than the old JJs space.  JJs was pretty small.  Ingredient space would be nice too.

it would be about the same size as old JJ's minus the bar.  and that's where the problem lies with me.  the bar and patio at JJ's was my favorite in KC and something that couldn't be recreated at CV.  also, the kitchen at coal vines is roughly the size of a 737's bathroom.  regardless- it sounds like he's looking somewhere else now, i'll ask around this weekend and find out.  come to think about it for a sec, maybe the CV space is still in play.  someone ITK A+ source mentioned it to me a couple weeks ago.

I'd agree.  Broadway around 39th could be cool but right now it's nothing...the Valentine and Hyde Park neighborhoods have some cool houses I hear but not for me.
