Hand scribbled note is better than the dude running over your mailbox to send a message. Must have a nice guy driving the truck.

All day today I was absolutely convinced that UCF's coach is Darryl Dawkins and not Johnny Dawkins. I even mentioned it to a coworker.  Imagine my surprise when I finally realized Chocolate Thunder left us back in 2015 lmao

I didn't realize until driving into the office today that we had sprung forward this weekend.  :shy:

Did you know chainsaw chains have to face a certain way?

So I've been chainsawing firewood at the cat ranch for a couple of years since I got a fancy Stihl Farm boss but a couple of months ago when I was out there the chain slipped for the first time (I was cutting at some weird elevated angle trying to prune an ancient apple tree) and I just stopped cutting wood for the day.

Yesterday comes and I take the chainsaw apart and put the chain back on the chainsaw and start attempting to cut some down some ewe(yew?) bushes here in KC and the I was getting nowhere. Like the chainsaw was running full steam but nothing was happening when I put it to the wood.

This went on for a couple of minutes before I realized something was not right and started thinking....Eventually I realized the chain may be on backwards, took it off, flipped it and it worked.

Felt like a huge dumbass afterwards but I cut those ewe(yews?) down in seconds after flipping the chain and then spent an hour digging out the stupid rootballs.

Chainsawing a bunch of ewes sounds like it would be a wooly mess

You're not alone, ben ji.  I would add wrapping trimmer chord on the wrong way.  Apparently, the arrows on the disc are there for a reason.

I have a summer cold, so I’m kind of in a daze. We’re at a zoo. I walked around a corner & saw a big sign for churros. I said to my family “there are the churros” thinking it was an animal.

Chances are the churros were the best thing at the zoo.

European calendars starting on Monday finally got me & I bought Versailles tickets for the wrong day. Found out when trying to scan the ticket at the gate.

I got scammed in Athens. so embarrassing

anyway day one, we landed at like 1pm, everyone was insanely jet lagged (including me) but I wanted some sunshine so I left the apartment and decided to wander around the neighborhood, maybe grab a beer. An old guy stops me and asks me for the time. Now, my bullshit meters are immediately going off and I basically tell him to eff off but he was old and nice so I show him the time. He asks me where I'm from, NYC, "Oh, my brother is in Astoria, he has a restaurant there". OK what's it called? and I'm pretty sure he said "Moussaka" which was also bullshit but he says - "I have a cafe, I'll give you his card" or something. So I am like what the hell it is a tame tourist street in broad daylight what can happen. So we roll up to his "cafe" and it's actually a shitty lounge type bar. there's a group of what looks like tourists in a booth and one lady at the bar. the guy invites me to join him for some ouzo so I'm like "why not - drinks are reasonable in greece". and then immediately the lady slides over and is like "hey buy me a drink too" and it was clear she was a prostitute but I'm not interested in that (and I'm jet lagged so again, not thinking clearly) and was like fine and then the bartender was like "buy me one too" and I said yes to this too! (I KNOW IT WAS SO STUPID!!!!) Anyway I have a second drink but didn't buy anyone else one and the lady was from Ukraine really wanted me to pay her for something so I ask for the bill.

IT WAS 110 EUROS

massive shame myself. in hindsight the guy just got me to agree to a ton of slightly more suspect things when I should have told him to eff off when he asked for the time.

anyway

also I looked it up on reddit afterwards and this is a very common scam. just don't talk to strangers in foreign countries and definitely don't follow them into bars lol

Isn't 110 euros like $20 now?

I got scammed very similar to that, Mich.  It was in Nuevo Laredo. My first clue something was off was when all the TVs in the bar had pornos playing on them.

I just looked this up in a currency converter.  Oof.  At least Rusty is still alive to tell the tale.  I'm pretty sure he described the plot to one of the Hostel movies.

Let me get this straight. You never mentioned feeling physically threatened in any way. Yet you didn't just peace out? Perhaps you committed a sin of the mind and viewed picking up the bill as your penance
