I remember some stuff being really divisive in the 90s. Bosnia, somolia, welfare reform, star wars episode 1 etc. But your point that the divisiveness is worse now is valid. Everything changed when we went into Iraq IMO.

Gingrich was saying right before one of Clinton's State of the Union Addresses Bill handed him a piece of paper that said "I resign." Then was all "whoops wrong note." Too many assholes nowadays for bros to be pulling those types of shenanigans with eachother
