I wasn't really keen on sac bunting Conlon with no outs in the bottom of the eighth, especially with Kivett on first. He was 9-9 on steal attempts at that point and you have the meat of the order coming up against a pitcher who was getting up in pitch count. That was before the pop out on the bunt from Conlon. Of course, Kivett eventually did steal with two outs, but by then the damage had been done.
I get that it is pretty basic old-school small ball at that point in the game. Down 2-1 late, etc. etc., but I just don't like the idea of giving away an out there especially with the team's best hitters waiting in the wings.
