It's been an uphill battle. The city is dragging their feet on the permits and the deadline is history.

They should bring Mike Holmes in. That dude goes nuts over permits.

After blowing the budget and deadline, all is good. The place turned out pretty nice and the couple is happy.

Can you believe the dumbass that had the house before vented the sewer into a wall, with insulation in it!? Holy crap some people are absolute morons.

Still somewhat surprised no one cared that he said he was glad all those people died.

Oh man, yes. Since he mentioned it in the speech, I assume it will be thousands of great paying jobs. I mean, if it was only like 200 jobs, he wouldn't even mention it, right? :driving:

I'm not sure what to think about the $9 minimum wage. How many parents are trying to get by on minimum wage right now? I'd like to know the %. The only things I think when I think of raising minimum wage is 1. how much it will hurt small businesses 2. high school kids getting paid more than they should be and 3. how does this affect people in serving positions who basically make all their money on tips?

Talked to two restaurant owners I know and they said they'll just have to layoff their college chick hostesses or cut their hours back if minimum wage goes up.   Reduction in other minimum wage staff would also likely be needed.   They can't keep passing it on, because in both cases they're already finer dining establishments that have higher end food and thus higher prices.

I think $9 is too high for states like Kansas. That's just going to make it harder for kids to find jobs.
