This is probably more California things, but saw an article that said that while middle class and below flight from California is a very real thing, wealthy influx into California is also a very real thing.

It would appear that California is on a trajectory to potentially (if not already) have the greatest gap between the have's and the have not's in the United States.

I suppose current California policy will allow the have's to be able to take advantage of cheap labor for domestic purposes as well as constructing their various palatial mansions and gentrification projects for further displacement of middle and lower classes.

Tech/startup lifestyle things have been around so long that I can't help but feel that people into them must be sort of obliviously uncool. Do people still enthusiastically talk about things like how their software is going to change the world?

You aren't wrong. Prop 13 makes it a pretty attractive place to buy real estate if you can get in. And in SF//LA not a lot of places middle or even upper-middle class can afford to buy.

no it's all purely about getting rich

here's an example of white liberals here fighting a homeless shelter for homeless seniors released from the hospital. There is a fairly well-financed campaign against it that claims they are trying to "save our children"

https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2019/01/15/special-alameda-election-to-decide-fate-of-proposed-center-for-seniors-homeless/

will cost half a mil+ just to have the special election

BART isn't too bad generally (relatively) but I imagine being a janitor for them would suuuuuuuck. Like most stations have bathrooms. there was an urban legend that one of the Saw movies was filmed in a Bart bathroom. I was googling that and found this:

No way it's actually that much worse, people might report it just but I moved here in 2011 and there's really not much difference today.

I mean The Valley is the center of the tech world and  beacon of innovation Mich.  It’s also just filled to the brim with poop.

I'm not denying that I'm just saying this isn't a recent phenomenon. Like no way there's 5x the more poop on the street than there was 7 years. What's happening is more rich people are moving to the Mission and Tenderloin and complaining about the poop more.

Well regardless if there’s more or less poop today than 7 years ago ~74 calls a day just for poop is a lot.
