Parisians were very nice to us. And I don't speak French for crap.

Yeah, everyone I met there was incredibly nice. I just asked nicely if they spoke English, in French of course, and most every one did.

I went to Winnipeg once in May and it was kind of a dump.

I documented the endeavor here:

someone who lives in winnipeg tells me it's just a bigger topeka.

Been to Toronto and got drunk. That was several years ago, but I assume you can still get drunk there. So that's a point in Toronto's favor. Also have been to Niagra Falls, but that was when I was only 6. Did not get drunk, but probably should have.

It's adorable when jd brings up his Paris trip. He's so very proud of how culturally enlightened he behaved.

Niagara Falls is great in the summer, it's the Napa Valley of Canada. I had a friend that worked at the resort in Banff, beautiful pictures, would visit.

I would also recommend visiting the University's museum.  When I went it was nearing sundown and when I walked out to where the totem poles are the whole place had this surreal feeling to it.  It was almost like a religious experience very peaceful and calming.

can confirm that totem poles are amazing. the plains indians were pud compared to those guys carving 80 ft tall trees into art.
