I really enjoy John Mayer's cover of Bold as Love.

John Mayer is, or at least used to be, a super underrated guitarist, owing in part to his bubblegum pop entrance into the music scene. I think music fans have come to realize over time that he's got serious chops, but I guess I can't really know that. Anyway, I think he's one of the greatest modern blues guitarists out there today. Not ashamed to admit he's much better than me.

Don't mean to crap up the thread, but what do you HCSIQ types think of blue grass covers of rap/rock songs?

Love Fiona. What’s #1?
"walking around mhk and crying in the rain because of love lost is the absolute purest and best thing in the world.  i hope i fall in love during the next few weeks and get my heart broken and it starts raining just to experience it one last time."   --Dlew12

We weirdly discussed this in the pit of all places

I will take literally every word you type on a message board very seriously and not as trolling, sarcasm, satire, or facetiousness.

that's all i've ever wanted.

lol, I doubt that but you got it.

:sigh:  you couldn't even make it through one post.

You have 35,000 posts here, I'm not going to entertain the ridiculous idea that every single one of those sentiments have been sincere. I'd say I feel like I'm being Punk'd, but a promise is a promise.

This song is one of my top five favorite songs of all time. I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard it. I was in my new apartment in Manhattan, two weeks after I got there in 1996. I brought this album from Hastings with my disbursement check. I was in my bedroom with my girlfriend and we listened back after we heard it the first time, I cried and fell in love with Fiona Apple.

Yeah, no one believes me when I go on about how great of a guitarist he is, especially blues. He has a few live albums that are just rough ridin' sick. He just had that first album that was a little too poppy and his image never recovered (or at least not taken as seriously as he should be) from it.

I used to be an excellent blues guitarist. Now I'm merely a very good one.

Yeah, that is pretty amazing.  I forget how much bands/musicians have a "sound," you know, until I hear it in a different place than I expected.  Like, I remember a million years ago when Power Station came out and I first heard it and was like "man that sounds like a Duran Duran riff" and sure enough the lead guitarist and bassist of Power Station were from Duran Duran.

Yeah, that sucked bad. I enjoyed the crap out of the Blink 182 guys though. Also, my car randomly played Soul Asylum doing Rhinestone Cowboy live and it was fun.
