She should have just said "Americans." How many people have a working photocopier at home in 2021?

I'm not interested in advocating either way, but a 3-in-1 printer? I have one.

Yeah, I'm 100% sure there are one offs, but would you be surprised if the number of americans with a working photocopier at their house is around or under 30%, because I sure in the hell wouldn't. That number of americans with a photocopier with a family income that's within 200% of the poverty line has to be below 10%.

Even with Dakkk's tweet here, adele's example was from work.

Well, now I'd like to know what the actual numbers are. I guess I assumed most people had printers at home, and most of those printers would have scanning/copying capabilities. I certainly bought mine when I was well below the poverty line. But, we all live in our bubbles I guess.

I had a printer at home 20 years ago, when I occasionally had a reason to print stuff out. I have no idea why I would want or need one now.

My 8 year asked me to print off every teams MLB schedule in color. And I occasionally print return labels.

Also, I would bet that the percentage of rural Americans who have a printer at home is probably quite a bit higher than urban Americans.

I’d believe that. But yeah it would be so dumb to require a photocopy but not allow just a regular photo/scan. This isn’t the 90s.

I fully realize this might be exposing a blind spot of mine, but being not TOO FAR removed from college, and law school, and now being a lawyer, a printer has always seemed like a necessity, not a choice or luxury item. And you can get a Brother laser printer with scanning/copying capabilities for less than a hundo on Amazon. Inkjet can suck my butt.

The last printer that I owned got used once. I tried to use it again years later, but the ink cartridges were all dried out and I couldn't get them usable using the function to clean the cartridges on the printer. Then I found out that HP wasn't even still selling replacement cartridges that fit the printer. So I printed off the Amazon return label at work the next day and I've never looked back. I'm also pretty sure that I could have just printed the label at UPS.

I think kids will be buying printers soon to use them like those crappy Polaroid cameras that are being sold now.

i just have a regular printer no scanner, and live in rural america for years now...i don't think i've seen a kinko's or anything similar since i've moved to the general area.

edit: the closest "fed ex print and ship center" which maybe is equivalent to a kinko's is 2 hours 48 minutes away....smh
