There was a KU fan sitting next to me that almost came to blows with the K-Stater next to him, because he was cheering so loudly for UNI. The blue clad fan asked the power cat clad fan why was he cheering against KU. He said, "Cause I HATE KU, I HATE Lawrence, I HATE the SNOBs like you that come from there! KU is getting exactly what they deserve, what I was hoping for. You beat us twice this year, we'll be playing next week and you will sitting at home (it was still early in the first half). The KU fan next to me (they were both pretty big fellows in their 50's), pointed out that KU had actually beat KSU three times, but the Purple person yelled back "It was only twice!". I could not help but say to the guy next to me, "It is obvious it studied math at KSU" (to which I received a glare, I am sorry guys & gals, that did not help the situation). I looked around me and saw most of the K Staters on their feet and cheering, as I said, even the KSU band positioned next to the UNI band.

When we're in the top 5 next year and ku is in the 20 somethings, you'll see how the big 12 protects it's elite. Things will even up pretty quick. Hell, we even got a little of the treatment this year. Except for when we go to Phag Allen of course.

As a former '17er myself I was unable to fully enjoy the KU loss.  It seems that when i showed up for the Thursday session I find two young KU fans (6-9 yrs old) sitting with their parents right in front of me.  (Compounding the problem was that, due to a hangover, i overslept Monday and was unable to get seats with my friends so I was by myself in the Lower Tier) Well the kids ended up cheering for the cats the whole game and are throwin me fives on big plays.  So by the time the hawks are getting dicked by NIU i felt pretty guilty being a total dick about it.

On the plus side a Nebraska fan behind me verbally chastized me for rooting against KU, I told him that i would rather get full blown AIDS than root for KU.

Would donate 1 billion dollars to the KSU Athletic Department contingent upon all if it being spent on football / men's hoops thereby guaranteeing that I'd get to experience that sort of thing every year.  Would keep / spend other 5 billion.
