Its like, for sure a song about drugs/rehab... RIGHT? He didn't seem to believe me. Thought that was common knowledge.
Yes. Had a friend who talked to Don Henley one time and he said it was about him becoming a Christian, but moreso about drug rehab.

"We haven't had that spirit here since 1969" - apparently referencing a big Christian movement that was at the end of the hippie movement
