so, yeah, I watched the Snyds video on GPC re: QBs.  pretty vanilla, saying that Snake can run it better and #life can pass it better than people perceive.

The part that made me  :bang: was where he was comparing Bishop to #life, talking about the virtue of having an electric, athletic QB who just flat out plays the game.  Implicit  :opcat: aside, he basically said #life may not be the most technical, playbook QB [insert dumb], but he makes plays.

Fact is, I want to go 8-4 and I think playmaker who our coach compares to Bishop gives us the best chance to get there.

Devil's advocate here: So say Daniel really is dumber than Waters. Wouldn't it be easier (and smarter) to simplify the playbook for your stud QB who is better at gaining yards and scoring points rather than turning your offense into a pseudo spread attack/qb run hybrid clusterfuck to suit the needs of a less talented player?

hey daniel, just stand back there and say hut hut hike.  then, dance around for half a second, plant your foot, and run forward somewhere.  boom, I just simplified the offense you guys.

i know this is coach speak but this talking point rough ridin' irritates me. People perceive crap because thats what we see, of course waters is a better runner in practice, he isnt suppose to get hit. Quite frankly after he tripped on the 30yd line i think he is scared of contact.

Coaches should tell us that player a is better than you think, if thats the rough ridin' case then show us

also, little insider tidbit from extreme insiders: waters was the QB who was struggling with the playbook earlier in the year.

Simple math!

Waters: 82.2% of the plays.  77.5% of the yards.

Sams: 17.8% of the plays.  22.5% of the yards.

waters isn't as bad as people are making him out to be.

I bet waters runs effing circles around our defense in practice.

I feel somewhat bad about having to disparage him. you can be shitloads worse than daniel sams and still be pretty good.

What about when we had to kick a field goal because Waters was too afraid to step into the throw to Sexton and missed him?  Seems scared.  You know who doesn't look scared?  Daniel Sams.

Meh.

a really good response that I was hoping you would say was "Justin Swift says he doesn't". especially given the direction the thread has taken.

Is there any doubt that K-State would be 2-0 with Sams starting at QB (100% of the time)?

Fitz and BITB.  Back in August, these guys broke through the cone of silence and deduced that Sams was physically gifted, but that Waters would start because he worked harder and understood the playbook better than poor, dumb Daniel.  Of course, neither one of them were privvy to any of Bill's practices, so their unfounded conclusion is kind of a head scratcher.
