The bracket sets up well, but I think our only two losses coming against top ten teams, and having a win against another top ten team, should put us higher than a 7 seed.  Does it really matter whether we played the #150 ranked team or the #300 ranked in the non-con games?  Both should be easy wins.

I agree.  Lunardi doesn't even have us in his top 25. :curse:

If we keep winning Big XII games, then everything will balance itself out in the court of public opinion. The Cats barely beat UMKC and barely beat Florida, I'm not sure America knows what the Cats are right now.

Cole (Kansas)

Joe, why do you have k-state so low in the seedings. I know they are ranked but how do you have them as a 7 seed?

Joe Lunardi
  (2:32 PM)

To me, the more relevant question is why the polls rank K-State so high. Nothing about their profile or performance screams Top 15-20 to me. And more than half of the wins are sub-200, great Florida victory notwithstanding.

I just don't understand putting much difference between sub-100 or sub-200.  They are all teams that a tournament team should beat.

They are all sub-1 teams.

A showdown with Mr. Bread!  :excited:

Would be the best.

Committee will try as hard as possible to make it happen

Yeah, and if Frank's team wasn't terrible they'd try to match us up with SC too.

Frank knew it was a dumpster fire of a program, to be fair.

Agreed, top 50/25 wins should matter for bubble teams, but teams that are "in" who gives a eff whether there schedule happened to include 100+ teams or 200+ teams.

When comparing resumes in March, your criteria is the criteria that matters. The committee looks at the top 50 wins.  The top 100/200 wins are only used to illustrate why you are currently in the RPI.  That answer is a cop out by Joe.  No one talks about that in March, or now for that matter.

Being pessimistic, I think we are a 4/5 seed.

01/16/13   at TCU     Daniel-Meyer Coliseum   8:00 PM CT
01/19/13   vs. Oklahoma     Bramlage Coliseum   3:00 PM CT
01/22/13   vs. Kansas     Bramlage Coliseum   7:00 PM CT
01/26/13   at Iowa State     Hilton Coliseum   12:30 PM CT
01/30/13   vs. Texas     Bramlage Coliseum   7:00 PM CT
02/02/13   at Oklahoma     Lloyd Noble Center   5:00 PM CT
02/05/13   at Texas Tech     United Spirit Arena   7:00 PM CT
02/09/13   vs. Iowa State     Bramlage Coliseum   5:00 PM CT
02/11/13   at Kansas     Allen Fieldhouse   8:00 PM CT
02/16/13   vs. Baylor     Bramlage Coliseum   6:00 PM CT
02/18/13   vs. West Virginia     Bramlage Coliseum   8:00 PM CT
02/23/13   at Texas     Erwin Center   7:00 PM CT
02/25/13   vs. Texas Tech     Bramlage Coliseum   6:00 PM CT
03/02/13   at Baylor     Ferrell Center   6:00 PM CT
03/05/13   vs. TCU     Bramlage Coliseum   7:00 PM CT
03/09/13   at Oklahoma State     Gallagher-Iba Arena   12:30 PM CT

(Should be wins) are bolded.

That leaves us at 22-9 with no bad losses and a good win. An upset or two and we're a 3 seed.

Unless Texas gets their crap together, we'll win in Austin too. We'll probably end up losing one we shouldn't, as well. If we go 12-6 in Big 12 play, I'll be ecstatic.

I didn't know which one we'd lose that we shouldn't, that's why I put @UT as a loss.

Yeah, I am.  Wisconsin basketball is my least favorite sports team on the planet.  Also, is that Jay Cutler?

I think so. I just found the pic, no idea why Cutler is on there.

I don't really hate Wisconsin and I was pulling for them last night.

eff Wisconsin.  They ended the K-State careers of Jacob Pullen, Michael Beasley, and Bill Walker.  But mostly Jacob Pullen. :bawl:

i was too, but i almost always pull for the upset + don't like indiana.  also, was weird watching jimmy jackson's son.  he looks a lot like his father, and was wearing red, albeit, for the wrong b10 team.

I don't like Wisconsin's slow pace, but I appreciate how they play. I would want a little more explosive, up and down game if I was a Badger fan, but I still have an appreciation for a basketball team that exhibits a high level of BBIQ. Probably makes me a bit tuckish, but whatever.

I don't like that they ended our season twice, but my answer to that is to beat them, not to get mad at them, especially because its not like they cheated or were cheap in beating us. They made more plays and Ryan worked Frank to an extent in both games.
