The kids started shying away from the live chickens bc when thrown into the air the chicken would be so overwhelmed by everything going on they would often die of heart failure in mid flight. That's a true story.

IIRC there were live chickens thrown the first time we beat KU at home in like a million years.  It could have been the year before though, all I know is I was there.  Also, PETA hated it and at least one of the chickens died.

But what a way to die, ya know?

It was hugs only season here that the chickens were thrown. We beat KU the next year.

ben ji made the local news when he got interviewed walking to class today.

In response to the statement of PETA calling it cruel I threw back something like "Ehhh, I dont think its that cruel. I mean which is worse, throwing a chicken on the court or having it sitting in a cage making egg mcmuffins all its life"
