the tarp in the ood
« on: January 04, 2013, 12:18:56 PM »
anyone else think it could  be contributing to our shooting woes?
there's no science to back it up but since we put the new tarp in, our shooting has  gone down.
probably a weird coincidence, has anyone noticed this at other schools?

At least get a matching tarp installed in the practice facility.

The location and size is fine, but it is obvs that the players are still associating that particular advertizer with Frank and being mentally returned to the days when they felt less confident and sure about their abilities and start fearing that they will ride the bench if they miss.  This over thinking and reintroduction of fear obviously causes them to miss their shots.

The tarp needs to be reinvented to a tarp that promotes a sense of player well being and safety.  Maybe some inspirational quotes in picture form?  A bunch of  or something?

just a personal note- you don't want to go to the well too many times asking the donors for money until the results start pouring in.  obvs the win against Florida will help.

but yes, i 100% agree, even if it means a restructuring of the current practice facility.

what percentage will it increase our shooting?  will we still have shooting woes?

I'd be okay with our current percentage if we got rid of the woes.

It has to be tough going from shooting at the tarp end one half and then the non-tarp half the other. Good point. Its clear the best answer would be to paint the tarp to make it look like seats. Actually, paint 2; use one with empty bleachers for sparce crowd nights, then one with fans in the bleachers for crowded games. Seems like it would be cheap and worth a shot.

would it be possible to paint the tarp on all 8 sides of the OOD?  or, better yet, install tarps on the 8 "walls" of the OOD.
the thought being is that a pseudo-paint tarp may not be realistic enough looking to the players.

real tarps would eliminate any excuses that the players may have.

What about 3D images of KSU CAT fans standing in silence when we are that end for offense, but when the opponent is on offense on that end, somebody rolls out a new tarp that is holographic purple cat fans waving their arms and stuff?

(You have to admit, that would be pretty ef'n awesome.)

The OOD tarp needs one word on it. "Family". Thats it. This would sooth our shooters and create more team unity. No more yelling, and berating shooters. Perhaps in a large script form or better yet, our End Zone font.

The Tarp is as recognizable in the sport as the Cameron Crazies, Hoosiers Red Stripes or Ashley Judd.  You change the Tarp and you will change the sport.  No thx kids.
