Matt Doherty
« on: December 20, 2012, 09:41:16 AM »
Anybody catch Matt Doherty on 810?
He said that oscar Weber is getting every bit of talent out of this K-State team this year.
oscar is a great coach and Frank didn't leave him with any talent.
He also threw McGruder under the bus and said he wasn't a good player or athlete and shouldn't have questioned Weber's offense earlier in the year.

Matt laid out perfectly the party line you will hear out of oscar/currie.  It's no surprise matt has watched practice and talked with oscar, which is to say he got the inside scoop from oscar on all the reasons oscar can't win.  Matt also said we lost a lot of scoring from last year.

Yep.

Guy was pretty unprofessional.  When asked if we have a chance against Fl, he openly laughed like it was him talking to some buddies at a bar about losers playing Goliath.  Don't get me wrong, I agree about our chances, but his reaction as someone who is paid for their perspective of the game was the issue.  Also, should note that 810 spent some time awkwardly dancing around the details of his interview after it was over.  Stated how every other analyst has a different opinion.

Doherty basically gave the tucks exactly what they want, an "official opinion" that provides the perfect excuse to have Bubbles fail and it be ok for a couple seasons.

I know, he really doesn't remember what type of team this was last year.
The entire same team from last year minus Jam Sam went to the old 2nd round of the tourney (new 3rd rd) and the coaching master mind has to work his magic on this team just to make them an average team.

1. From now on, Matt Doherty will be oscar's puppet.
2. Those that cheer for oscar are admitting that you cannot recruit to Manhattan and accept a loser's mentality.

ridiculous. this no talent team minus jamar was an 8 seed last year and had multiple wins over top 20 teams. but like you said, he's a recently fired friend of weber who was given his marching instructions and apparently carried them out.

When asked what it meant that frank was so successful with this team last season, that is when he said we graduated some scorers.

The coaching frat lives oscar because he provides all loser coaches hope.

He also said oscar would recruit within the rules.
Later he talked about how Huggs had an “underground” pipeline to DC.
And the talent had all moved on from this team.

Oh man, and his tone and how he laid out the "underground railroad" was hugely implying cheating.

Also, very  :opcat:

What the hell...  Was Jamar a lottery pick, and I just missed it?  This is the same BS that will keep Weber here through numerous underachieving seasons

FWIW, I think Matt Doughehheherety was someone Gottlieb mentioned as a person he would consider as an assistant were he hired at K-State, right? I'm thinking of that 810 interview a day or two before it all came crashing down and we were given oscar Fracking Weber.

More or less.  Went through last year's record, and the roster etc.  Said he hadn't heard ANYONE saying we have no talent.

Don't recall other than Doug's bro and dad or friend of dad or something.  Eitherway, if Matt Derpderpherty deserves a job coaching, it is as a low level assistant under a no experience start up guy like doug.

Man, I was so jacked after that interview. Literally stopped driving and just listened to Gottlieb hit a home run on every question...

"But can you recruit?"
