TAlking about this area without mentioning Sedan is blasphemy. By far the best town in the region. Yes, I know this is a thread for crappy towns. Also, you can't bring up Chautauqua and leave out Elgin, a town "Too Tough to Die."

Sedan is the only real town in that area.

I don't know. A school, a post office, living breathing people that actually claim to live there, maybe? Some of these towns are just places where people live rural lives that happen to fall within the borders of a town that used to be.

Sinkholes from abandoned mines have plagued Galena for years. Three small, but deep, ones developed earlier this month near city hall, at a mobile home court and on a street.

i drove by that town one summer day and there was what looked like an impromptu, all mexican rodeo. it was in the early afternoon and there weren't any signs or decoration but hundreds of these rancheros were sitting on the corral fence watching dudes wrestle steers. looked extremely unsafe and awesome.
