These friends aren't trashy. I'm pretty sure one of them is a pretty big deal there. He runs a major company there with his dad and i'm pretty sure it's good for the community.

I know, man. Scary story alert. He had a private plane that he flew for the company from time to time. Two years ago I flew down to ft worth with him for the TCU game. A month later that same plane crashed and killed 4 ppl in it. It had some kind of malfunction.

Wow, just read this thread for the first time. Personally think Galena takes the cake with Baxter Springs, Parsons, and the other extreme SE shitholes also receiving consideration. But how the eff does Iola not get at least a mention? I mean seriously eff that town. Possibly the shittiest McDonalds and Sonic on earth right across the street from each other. And ACCC?    Also Osawatomie only mentioned once? Come on. LaCygne and Garnett are resort towns next to those two.

Depends on the direction of the wind in Dodge. Sometimes the wind blows in a direction to get some smells from the cinnamon roll factory. All other directions you get smells from feed lots (crap) or the meat packing plants (worse than crap).

HAYSVILLE — A Kansas teenager is recovering at home after spending three days in intensive care recovering from a scorpion sting.

Fifteen-year-old Parker Hartley of Haysville Hartley was bitten Friday after he played Frisbee Golf at a park in Haysville, while he was barefoot. He put on his shoes after the game and felt a sharp sting and instant pain.

KAKE-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1mjRskI ) Hartley’s parents at first thought he had been stung by a bee or wasp. But within 24 hours, his foot had swollen and Hartley said the pain was unbearable. A nurse at Wesley’s emergency room recognized the sting and he was hospitalized.

Experts say scorpions hide in dark places, so check your shoes if they’ve been outside, or in sheds.

No way you can put Hutchinson on this list.  Any town that has the Cosmosphere is automatically disqualified from being the 2nd worst anything.  There is also a problem with putting Coffeyville on the list.  There is a Perry Maxwell designed golf course in Coffeyville.  And with all the SE Kansas towns being listed how has Humboldt been left out?  Iola is down right cosmopolitan compared to Humboldt.

Very very depressing thread. I am not from KS and have zero family members in KS and I feel like there should be like some sort of password required to read this thread that only people from KS or people who have family members in KS can get into it and read it.

I bet a worst town in Missouri thread would be much more depressing than the Kansas thread. The worst towns in Kansas can attribute most of their problems from spillover from SW Missouri and NE Oklahoma, after all. It's just too bad we don't have more mocats to really get one going.
