Holiday Treats
« on: December 18, 2012, 09:13:25 AM »
*Disclaimer: These treats are not limited to the Holidays but that is when I most enjoy them.*

How is everyone doing today? I would like to discuss monkey bread with you. Is it the perfect food? Probably. How about peanut brittle? 2nd best?

You know what sucks though? Puppy Chow. What an overrated snack. Hey lets just dump a bunch of powdered sugar on some cereal. GET REAL.

How much better is caramel popcorn that cheese or cinnamon? A eff ton better is the correct answer.

Do you have a favorite holiday snack?

Carmel and cheese popcorn together is legit.  Just found that out this week.  Supplier gave me a xmas tub and it was all in there co-mingling together.  I initially flipped out, then tried it and realized what was really going on here.

Cire, prepared to have your mind blown.  Chex now makes puppy chow.  It is good.

Puppy chow is tops.

My real favorite are those pecan cookies that have chowder sugar on them and are crumbly and melt in mouthy. Apparently some people call them mexican wedding cakes (cookies).

Summer sausage, cheese ball, gourmet crackers.  When I see this at a party, you better watch out partner, because I'm gonna NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM on it all night.

Also, kudos for exposing puppy chow as an inferior snack.

Puppy chow is amazing, though it has never screamed holidays for me.

There are white chocolate covered pretzels that have mashed up peppermints on them.  Those are increds.

Chocolate covered treats, but with butterscotch chips mixed in with the chocolate. Can be peanut clusters or haystacks (with those crunchy noodle looking things) or with rice crispies. The milk chocolate/butterscotch combo is one of the best flavors in the world though.

Donkey dick and wedge ass.  Aka summer sausage and sharp cheddar.  I'm not real big on the sweets but almond roca is pretty great.

In-laws make a spiced tea that is very heart warming and my family always has two bowls of christmas punch.  One bowl for the kids and one spiked with vodka.

I've always WANTED to like egg nog but I've pretty much given up.  Will try it again this year though.

Find the hildebrand farms eggnogg in the glass bottle. It's the best if you can find it. Then mix with myers dark rum and sprinkle nutmeg and crap on it.

Puppy chow is great.  People who don't like it probably don't even celebrate Christmas to begin with.  Thoughts and prayers.
