So, is Kingsbury's success based on having a 6th year senior QB and one of the most talented QB's in CFB?

After being burned by Tubbs, they'll go Kliff.  Wouldn't be surprised if after another couple 7 win seasons they would've booted Tubbs for him anyway once other schools started calling.

tubberville is such a male genitals stain.

what's funnier than him leaving TT in the dust is he's no doubt put his name out there for every single job available and everyone was like uh... yeah right, until cinci was like eww... i guess at least he has a name?

Leavitt anyone @ Tech would be bad for us.  Really bad.
what zacker really thinks

I think Leavitt is a good coach.  Not great, but good.

 so why would this be "bad for us.  Really bad."  Tech has had good football coaches for as long as we've been alive

One theory is that he will compete against us for the same intrinsic value players that we will be after.

I think Leavitt has proven he is a great coach, taking a program from new-to-D1 to a National name.  That's not really arguable.

Calling USF a national name is definitely arguable. And what Leavitt did was impressive, but it doesn't necessarily translate into "great coach" at the Big 12 level.

 :ohno:

I'm just  :crossfingers: that Hocutt isn't going to hire another psychopath that beats players this soon after Leach.

This.  I would rather some other competent coach that does not know Bill intimately take over and keep Tech as the most consistently mid tier program in the conference.

They can go 8-4 with 4 or 5 conference wins without being able to make us one of them more often than not.

player abuse aside, that job would be perfect for Mangino

some have already kind of stated something similar to this, but I think Leavitt and Bill will shop for the same things, so to speak (dual threat qb, DITRs, jucos).  And then there's a familiarity with Bill/Del/Dimel.

I'm not arguing whether Leavitt is good or not. I want to know why TT having a good coach now would be any different for us than it has been since the Big 12 was founded.

Are there programs not doing that now?  I'm fairly certain that each of the previous three coaches there beat us for players, including those from Kansas community colleges.

yeah, no, I agree MIR, we've had shitty recruiters so someone else remaining good doesn't change that.  however, with Leavitt I think he and snyds will shop for the same players - specifically at QB, I think he has liked running spread option - so it would be another program to compete against.  whereas if they got a "good" coach that was a leach-ish spread guy, we may not have that same battle to lose.

also, I think we may be headed for a "would you rather be pooped on or peed on argument".

Didn't Ron Prince essentially do that to Nebraska with Freeman?

Nice: http://texastech.247sports.com/Article/Tommy-Tuberville-left-visiting-recruits-at-the-dinner-table-106322

that + the assistant coach recruiting Tech recruits to go to Cinci, while still employed and recruiting for Tech. yikes.
Sometimes I think of the Book of Job and how God likes to really eff with people.
